Grand Theft Auto 4, like ogres, has layers. As if the size of the city wasn’t impressive enough Rockstar goes above and beyond to offer you a world that looks, sounds, and breathes like a major metropolitan city. From the people on the street, to the huge selection of vehicles, the side games and restaurants you can take your friends and girlfriends to, plus the gritty roads and buildings that look worn out and lived in, you are totally immersed.

Speaking of immersed the story sucks you and muttering to your self “ Just one more mission. Just one more.” as Niko Bellic illegal immigrant, hit man, and all around nice guy. But don’t get it twisted you will put a bullet in anyone to make a buck or save your own skin. Being new to the American way doesn’t keep you down long as you begin to make friends, enemies, and a lot of cash in the criminal underworld. You start of hanging out with your cousin who meets you at the boat and from there you branch out to drug dealers, gangsters, and the ladies. Again Rockstar doesn’t skimp on the layers. You can meet your or take any of your friends to bars, bowling alleys, restaurants, and the theater all equipped with their own personality and ambience.

Probably one of the most amazing things about the game is that everything that I’ve described t you so far translates perfectly into the online world. Where you can chose from Death Matches, Contract Killing, Cops n Crooks, Team Car Jacking, and more. You can customize your gaming experience to be any way you want. If you want to play with only missel launchers at specific location, no problem. Each online game is filled with the same life as the story mode. Lots of people and personality that makes it just so “real” and completely addicting.

So if you’re planning on buying this game or know someone who already has, I suggest you start planning the intervention now. Because it’s going to take a serious team effort to get your friend or loved one away from the console.
